Hello! Lots of people have asked me what shows to recommend to go see this Edinburgh. It is really hard to sum up all the baffling and badass creativity that is going on in August, so rather than text you all individually - here is a list of the shows that I would definitely be going to see if I was at the fringe. All the people on this list are comics who I have seen live, can vouch for being excellent and know personally - they are all solid human beings. Go and see them a
Hello Guineapigs! Next week I am taking part in WILD SHENANIGANS - a festival of clowning, slapstick and mayhem. It is at the Blue Elephant Theatre in Camberwell. 19:00 I wrote a blog entry. It took a while and then it deleted itself.
Frustrations of the internet.
So here we go. Let’s try and replicate it again. *** 17:00
I have returned home now. Post op. For a while I waddled around like E.T but with sassy white hospital bra and pants, which alongside my dirty red hair, making me resemble a curvier, dirtier less athletic version of Lelu in The Filth Element. I’m coming off a mild opiod addiction which means I sleep for twenty min
The Guinea Pig Diaries: Diary Entry from an Out-of-body comedian at home. Preface: To the three people who read this - I have not written in a while, thus I apologise for the long sentences. This was written on a huge boost of opiods, coffee and St Vincent playing in the background. ******* 12pm - Monday 29th October - Location - Family Kitchen - Pain Level: 7 out of 10. I am covered in dog hairs. I find them in obscure places that they shouldn’t be, between my toes, behind m
It's 00:07. I am sitting in an old student room in Pembroke College, Cambridge. I am sitting on teh end of an old World War II Campbed which a soldier definitely died in (and has questionable mahogony stains on it....) and I'm watching Pippa, the owner of said bed, rub Manuka Honey on her face. Pippa is one of my oldest friends and one of the most dazzling. Imagine the love child of Mildred Hubble and Keira Knightley's interpretaion of Lizzie Bennett. Very clever, smart, and
It's 23:40pm, I'm listening to 'Back in the Tall Grass' by Future Islands and the zombie foot is still going strong with the 'I'm about to deteriote and drop-off your body' kind-of-look. Very sexy. I'm also wearing Flannel Pyjamas. The type of pyjamas that scream 'CELIBACY'. These pyjamas conflict very nicely with the new array of garments I received from ASOS today - garments which Kim Kardashian and Pamela Anderson would probably high-five me for and also the type of garme
The UK is saturated with talented and dynamic creative introverts and extroverts working ridiculously long hours all over whilst at the same time managing to squeeze in being functional adults with healthy relationships, diets and friends. London is a melting-pot in particular for people such as these, and as a professional plate-spinner (not literally) I am surrounded by women and men who inspire me with their hard work and constant love for what they do. It is so important
Here's the poster for my new show, UNDERGROUND SUCCESS, created by the astoundingly talented Marc Burrows. The show will be on every day at the Voodoo Rooms from the 2nd until the 24th of August on the PBH Free Fringe. Awesome news! Last Friday I was lucky enough to perform in Leamington Spa in front of the most wonderful audience of students, grown ups and comedy lovers as part of the 2nd heat for the Chortle Student Comedy Awards. It was a great night, and alongside getting to hang out with my sister and my fellow talented comedy companions, I was absolutely chuffed to find out I had won the heat and got through to the semi-finals of the competition! Wahay! Details of the semi-finals will
